BUILT TO BE KEPT
Older homes were built to work, age, and be repaired. We start by understanding what is already there—how the house sheds water, carries weight, moves air, and has survived this long—before deciding what needs to change.
REPAIR WHAT ALREADY BELONGS
Original hardwood floors, wood windows, sash cords, pulleys, counterweights, and glazing were designed to be maintained. We restore function wherever practical, preserving the materials that have already proven they can last.
THE DETAILS STILL MATTER
Doors, transoms, trim, hardware, and millwork are more than decoration. When something can be adjusted, rebuilt, fitted, or repaired, we would rather make it work again than erase what gives the house its character
COMFORT WITHOUT ERASING CHARACTER
An old bathroom does not have to become a new-build bathroom to work well. Clawfoot tubs, traditional fixtures, tile, plumbing, cabinetry, and older finishes can often be repaired, adapted, or thoughtfully updated without losing the room that made the house feel like home.
UNDERSTAND WHAT’S BEHIND THE WALL
Good repairs start beneath the surface. Framing, siding, plaster, floors, joists, and foundations all interact, and the wrong modern solution can create problems you cannot see until years later. We repair the system, not just the symptom.
CRAFTSMANSHIP IS THE CONTINUITY
Restoration is not about freezing a house in time. It is about giving good materials, good design, and good workmanship another generation of useful life. Repair what’s broken. Restore what matters. Preserve what made it home
